Irene Brewton White

(January 3, 1924 - December 27, 2010)

Ms. Irene Brewton White, age 86 of Winnfield, passed away, Monday, December 27, 2010 at Northern Louisiana Medical Center in Ruston.

Ms. White was born, January 3, 1924 in Winnfield. She was a member of Antioch Community Church in Brewton's Mill, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Jannie (Liles) Brewton, sister Nellie Oxford, and brother Clyde Brewton.

Survivors include her son Larry G. White and wife Alene, three grandsons Ethan, Dylan, and Kevan all of Oklahoma City, Ok., one brother Robert Brewton and wife Camille of Baton Rouge, La., one sister Betty Carr of Goldonna, La.

She is also survived by four nieces Cindy Huckaby, Janice Coleman, Donna Brewton, and Gloria Richardson and one nephew Bobby Brewton.

Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Antioch Cemetery near Brewton's Mill, La. with Reverends Darrell White and Huey White officiating. Friends may visit with the family in the Southen Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30p.m.

Henry "Hanky-Boy" Haynes

A retired postal worker with 23 years of service, he died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. He was 64 and a resident and native of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 28, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Religious service at First Baptist Deaf Church at noon Wednesday, Dec. 29, conducted by Pastor Michael A. Mack and officiated by the Rev. Arnold Austin. Survived by his wife, Lois A. Haynes; daughters, Debbie Thomas and Quinesta Randolph; son, Quience Randolph; two sisters, four brothers and five grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Isadore and Frances Hodges; parents-in-law, Simmie and Addie Armwood; and two special brothers-in-law. He was a graduate from Southern University School for the Deaf and Arkansas Technical School for the Deaf. He was very dedicated to his church and signing with his chorus.
