Interpreters often have a hard time interpreting poetry and songs. Different techniques and skills will be discussed and put into practice during this hands-on interactive workshop.
Proper use of classifiers, handshapes, non-manuals and rhythm will be covered; with a main focus on properly interpreting the artistic feel of the poetry or song while maintaining the integrity of the poetry or song’s message.
Participants are encouraged to bring a printed copy (double spaced) of their favorite song or poem.
